James White was originally created for a Dr James, a discerning man whose garden room was in need of a lightly green-based white. The finished result is subtle and soothing, and looks particularly good in rooms that receive little natural light.

A splendid fresh white that seems to complement all F&B colours. I have used it throughout the house for ceilings, architraves and walls above the picture rails. Works especially well with F&B Sudbury Yellow, F&B Farrow's Cream, and F&B Sardine.

Ten years after the first application of Farrow & Ball James White masonry paint , two North facing walls were slightly discoloured. Now all looking very good and the other walls still don’t need repainting!

James white is a beautiful white paint, I didn’t want any yellow undertones so went with this paint and it’s so nice, it has green undertones so when natural light is on it the walls have a hint of green but with artificial light it is a warm white. I love it.
