Old White, quite simply, is the most historic of Farrow & Ball whites. It's part of the Traditional Neutrals group – Lime White, Off-White, Old White and Slipper Satin – the shades of which all share a subtle green undertone. This tone is particularly prominent in north-facing rooms, but is downplayed in well-lit spaces, making Old White appear as more of a grey.

Customer photo review of Old White (4)

Perfect colour and finish and great coverage

Painted the walls of my loft bedroom in Old White dead flat with the complementary Slipper satin on the woodwork. Colour seemed much darker than I hoped it will be as dead flat doesn't reflect what little sunlight the room gets through velux windiws. But it grew on me after all was finished. It gets lighter on the sunny day, very calm, elegant, envelopping colour which Slipper Satin makes a bit lighter in contrast. Quality of paint is great, two coats with a good quality roller was all it needed,no undercoat from the room's initial magnolia. If you picture any kind of off-white, forget about it, it's very nice shade of sage that gets slightly greyer or greener depending on the weather. Very happy with the paint.

Lovely classic colour and hard wearing
