Breathable
Distemper is highly breathable and vapour permeable, making it an ideal choice for porous surfaces where it provides excellent coverage and finish.
Distemper offers a beautifully soft texture and authentic depth of colour, making it an ideal choice for the sensitive restoration of period properties.
Chalky finish
Distemper is a high-opacity, low-odour, water-based paint with a beautifully chalky matt finish.
Apply two coats for rich, even colour, allowing 4 hours between applications.
For porous surfaces, dilute the first coat with up to 20% clean water; newly plastered or highly absorbent surfaces may require up to 50% thinning.
Due to its refined, powdery texture, Distemper's availability is limited to pastel colours from the Little Greene palette.
Wipeable
Distemper is suitable for interior walls, ceilings, and delicate plasterwork. It creates a soft, elegant look—ideal for low-traffic areas such as bedrooms, lounges, and dining rooms. It is not recommended for high-contact surfaces or areas prone to condensation.
