About this finish
Pure Flat Emulsion 2% sheen · dead flat
The flattest finish in the range. It dries to a soft, chalky matt that lets the colour look deep and velvety, with no shine to catch the light.
Best for
Walls and ceilings in living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, anywhere you want maximum depth of colour.
Not designed for regular wiping. For hallways, kitchens or children's rooms, choose Architects' Matt.
Architects' Matt 3–5% sheen · matt
Almost as flat as Pure Flat, but fully washable, with excellent scuff and stain resistance. Self-priming, so it goes straight onto most surfaces.
Best for
Busy walls: hallways, stairs, kitchens, bathrooms and children's rooms. Also works on woodwork and radiators for a matt-all-over look.
Architects' Eggshell 10–20% sheen · low sheen
A tough, water-based finish with a soft, smooth low sheen. Hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean.
Best for
Woodwork, skirting, doors, furniture, metalwork and radiators, inside and out. Also suits walls that need to stand up to cleaning.
Architects' Satin 30–35% sheen · satin
A self-priming finish with a subtle mid sheen, built for surfaces that get handled and knocked every day.
Best for
High-traffic woodwork: doors, skirting, windows, banisters, kitchen cabinets and furniture.
Architects' Gloss 80% sheen · high gloss
A protective, durable water-based gloss that dries to a high shine, without the yellowing or smell of traditional oil gloss.
Best for
Front doors, trims, window frames, railings and anywhere you want a crisp, classic gloss.
Prime new wood and old gloss with Architects' A.S.P first.
Architects' A.S.P All Surface Primer · 6% sheen
A primer and undercoat tinted to your chosen colour, so your top coats cover better and look truer.
Best for
Preparing bare wood, metal and previously glossed surfaces before Architects' Eggshell, Satin or Gloss.
Caravan is a vibrant Moroccan red with rich warmth and confident character. From the Original Colours palette, it feels sophisticated alongside warm neutrals like Canvas, or strikingly crisp when paired with cooler tones such as Salt.

Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 5.0 / 5 from 2 reviews.
We've recently used Paint & Paper Library paint on a number of our original cast iron radiators and have been really impressed with the results. As a company specialising in restoring and supplying original cast iron radiators, finding high-quality paint with a great choice of colours is really important to us, and Paint & Paper Library has certainly delivered. We're looking forward to using more of their colours on future projects! Emily Salvagedoctor
Store owner replied: Absolutely love these rads! What a colour 🔥
This colour is fantastic, matching exactly the advertisement I had torn from a magazine. I used Architect’s Matt to paint very tired and neglected kitchen and utility room walls as well as the internal side of a kitchen back door. Finish and pigment are excellent. Highly recommended.
Store owner replied: Caravan is a classic - we're so happy you love it too! Would love to see some pictures of the kitchen - please feel free to send them over if you'd like to share the result! :)
